What book are you?

I got this from over at Outside a Dog (both appropriate for the book/reading quote, and a nice compliment to Outside Cat).

You’re Watership Down!
by Richard Adams
Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you’re actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You’d be recognized as such if you weren’t always talking about talking rabbits.

Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.

It’s totally true. Well, I’d say I talk about sheep more than rabbits, but sheep would never have a free-standing community like rabbits would.

Oh, happiness. It’s impromptu dancing, often.

I caught this from Inky’s blog, and I had to share. There is nothing I like more than impromptu dancing – be it my own, others, or in what would otherwise be a non-dancy movie (Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Beetlejuice, Tank Girl, etc).

This is a commercial, but it was filmed live at the Liverpool Street Station in London. Watching it, I wondered what I would do if I were there. I’d like to think I’d run down into the crowd and join in.

Teddy Bauer and I in the subway. He graciously met me at the bus, and
accompanied me towards the train. Next stop, home. I really liked his
hat. And general spunkiness.

Watching the IA WI OT on the plane. I heart Jet Blue. Go Hawks!

As I was checking my bag at the United terminal, I realized I had
forgotten the LTFL banner. I looked up, and saw that my flight was
going to be an hour late. Never before has a United eff-up work to my
favor. To wit, I walked home and retrieved the banner. Huzzah!

We talked of metada, storytelling, and Denver hot spots. Then we went and found cupcakes.

Oh yeah. Cupcakes. Gotta go.

Being rad at the American Library Association midwinter meeting.

This is the red line at Metro Center. It didn’t occur to me that
they’d have signage or othrr preparations up yet.

I am heading OUT of DC to Comus MD, where I will bask in the Obamaglow
from a distance.

Time to toughen up

I have only a week before the ALA Midwinter meeting. Do you know what this means?

I need to up my drinking considerably if I’m going to go round for round with the librarians.

Here’s how the last conference started.
