Lurchy feeling

There is nothing like shuffling through old binders trying to find a single sheet of lined paper (what kind of technology freak am I?) and running across a post breakup/getting back together letter from an ex. I got this horrible lurchy feeling in my stomach, and nearly melted down, until I noticed that he used the wrong your.

Then I was OK, somehow. It’s magical what grammar can do to a soul.

  1. I recently watched an old Sex and the City episode [third season to be exact] where Carrie finds out that Big is married to Natasha, and Natasha ends up writing Carrie a ‘Thank You’ note for coming to some Women in the Arts banquet, and Natasha uses ‘their’ instead of ‘there’. That little grammar mistake made the whole horrible lurchy feeling that Carrie felt wash away and she phones up Miranda to share this discovery.

Oh, how I love Sex and the City.
