Toe Jam Puppet Band
Did I mention that I’ve started performing with a kids band? (That is, a band for kids, not a band of kids.)
They’re called the Toe Jam Puppet Band and it’s really just about as much fun as it sounds. Kind of like my job as a children’s librarian, I can’t believe I get paid to do this.
Today we’re going to the Charlestown, RI seafood festival. I’m going to try to put some pictures up on my Flickr as I experience a seafood festival from the performer side, as well as eat blackened scallops and a lobster roll.
What are you playing in the band?
you know who else plays with puppets? alice cooper.
rock on! sounds awesome, and i’m kind of jealous. i always wanted to be in a band, but more along the lines of a backstreet boys kind of band. but then again, you know that already… 🙂
hope ur well.
I’ve SEEn you as in a backstreet boy kind of band (within the context of a children’s play), and I hope one day you get to make that dream come true. Maybe we should collaborate and write awesome kids songs? We can meet up in Iowa and lay down some tracks.
Oh, and I don’t play an instrument. I’m not sure how to describe it, other than saying it’s kind of like the dancer in the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, or TuPac when he was with Digital Underground. Only more of a facilitator between what the band is singing (“up, down, round and round”) and what the kids should be doing (up, down, round and round).
