Bck to normal: a post about knitting lust
Catching up on my blog reading, I found a kick-ass pattern for a rug knit out of old teeshirts from Jessicool, via Crazy Aunt Purl.
Lookit!
As soon as I have my arm back, I’m going to buy me some size 19 needles and make a bath mat.
Interesting. That pattern looks pretty similar to one from “Mason-Dixon Knitting,” only they cut the T-shirts into loops, then strung them all together (sort of like stringing together a chain of rubber bands). The advantage is that you don’t have to weave in ends, and you can get more color variation. (Of course, you’re also working with double the thickness, for better or for worse.)
My roommates in Chicago have this great rug, made in the same fashion, only out of pantyhose. You’d never know it, and it is so soft.
If only I wore pantyhose! They’re always snagging and needing to be thrown away.
I bet I could beg pantyhose off other people though …
