{"id":507,"date":"2007-02-20T10:44:14","date_gmt":"2007-02-20T16:44:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/outsidecat.com\/wordvehicle\/archives\/507"},"modified":"2007-02-20T10:44:14","modified_gmt":"2007-02-20T16:44:14","slug":"storytime-colors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/outsidecat.com\/wordvehicle\/archives\/507","title":{"rendered":"Storytime: colors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Storytime from last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Song: I&#8217;m a Little Teapot<br \/>\nStory: Samuel Todd&#8217;s Book of Great Colors<br \/>\nSong and dance: Color Square Dance (each kid got stickers denoting what colors they were,   and we went over what the moves were)<br \/>\n<i>Blue step forward, then turn around<br \/>\nWalk back to your place, and jump up and down.<br \/>\nReds, hop to the middle, and back again<br \/>\nFind the yellows, and shake their hand.<br \/>\nNow purple you slowly turn around,<br \/>\nClap your hands and make a sound.<br \/>\nDo-si-do, around we go,<br \/>\nAll the colors, heel to toe.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Story: The Color Kittens<br \/>\nRhyme: Color Rhyme<br \/>\n<i>If your clothes have any red, put your finger on your head.<br \/>\nIf your clothes have any blue, put your finger on your shoe.<br \/>\nIf your clothes have any green, wave your hand so you are seen.<br \/>\nIf your clothes have any yellow, smile like a happy fellow.<br \/>\nIf your clothes have any brown, turn your smile into a frown.<br \/>\nIf your clothes have any black, put your hands behind your back.<br \/>\nIf your clothes have any white, stamp your feet with all your might.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Craft: Pre-cut crayons to color (from Copycat mag).<\/p>\n<p>The same basic storytime was used today for the 1-3 year olds. It didn&#8217;t work as well. There was a massive age range, and they were mostly too young to engage with the color identification action.
