I want to thank everyone that contributed to my question on games for toddlers. There were too many to reply to everyone individually. I didn't want to bore everyone with every detail of what I did for the Dora party, but from the responses I learned that I did actually do some things right though I didn't mention them in my initial post. I did ask the parents to help their children at the start though it didn't seem to do much good, luckily some of my devoted storytime moms did jump in and help try to keep all the munchkins in line. I also let every child be a winner and get a prize for trying.

I think my biggest enemies were the lack of space, too many people, and lack of volunteers. I'm not used to having every person on my registration list actually come, in the past it's always been about half so this was a (overwhelming) surprise. So next time I will have repeat events but with less kids at each one. I want to do activity centers this time around to eliminate the waiting in line, but that pretty much hinges on how many outside volunteers I can get and if I can commandeer the tables outside our meeting room as well so I can have more than 4 centers available. If that plan doesn't work out, you all have come up with plenty of activities that the group can do all at once.

The condensed version of the compilation is 9 pages long... so I won't post here, but if anyone wants it feel free to email me and I will send it as a word attachment. "Amy Riegle" <riegleam@oplin.org>
